Lin Rooftop Bar is located at the rooftop of Link Hotel along 50 Tiong Bahru Road. It overlooks the show houses and if you are lucky with a good weather, you gets to see a clear view of the sky.
Lin, in short for “Shu-Lin” which means forest in mandarin is a contemporary Asian alfresco rooftop bar, specialises in authentic Asian-inflused cocktails, premium whiskeys as well as specially selected beers for you to pair with the Asian bar snacks and mains.
While waiting for our food to be served, which took quite awhile due to the shortage of manpower, we ordered two of Lin’s signature asian cocktails, Road to Ultra, a mix of Gin, Vodka, Rum, Tequila, Melon Liqueur and Pineapple Juice ($18) and Rustic Sky, with an unique flavour of Rum, Sour Plum Mix and Lime Juice ($18). However, we think it will be even better if they are both served cold.
After close to about an hour of waiting time, our mains arrived. One of the new addition to the menu is the Rusty Dusty Chick ($17.80). Roasted chicken leg with rosemary and thyme, served with baby potato and carrot.
The chicken leg was abit over roasted as you can see the top is quite badly burnt. The meat was not as juicy as we thought it would be and some parts seems alittle uncooked. We understand that this is a new addition in the menu and there’s room for improvement as the taste is actually not too bad.
Next we have the Asian Smoked Duck Pasta ($14.80). Asian styled spaghetti with shitake mushrooms, topped with sliced smoked duck breast. The aglio olio was nicely cooked and the smoked duck was good, just a little salty. A bit of fine tuning and it will be perfect 🙂
We also ordered the Empress Har Cheong Wings ($11.80) to go with the cocktails. Chicken wings marinated with home-made prawn paste batter, served with homemade chili.
In line with its Asian themed interior, Terracotta Warriors are placed at Lin, together with other Asian elements such as Buddha heads and bamboo plants, fitted onto the planter box along both sides of the bar.
At Lin, there are covered areas for guests who prefer a more private settings, as well as an outdoor area filled with fairy lights overhead for those who love an al-fresco dining experience.
Overall, as you can see, Lin is actually quite a nice place to chill at after work with a drink or dine with a group of friends as the prices here are very wallet-friendly. It could be one of the cheapest rooftop bar you can find around the area.
