Sponsored Trip by F&N Sparkling Drinks
Before i start my post proper, i gonna thanks F&N Sparkling Drinks for sponsoring this trip!!!
If you are a loyal reader or “fans” of my blog, you will know that i actually won the Spread the Groove title from the Spread the Groove Blogging Challenge organized by F&N sparkling Drinks for the Singapore Dance Delight 2011. The purpose of this trip is to cover the GRAND FINALS of Japan Dance Delight whereby Joyce & the Boys will be representing Singapore to compete with the other competitors! If you missed out on the fun we bloggers had during our “challenge” days, you can read more about it here.
So finally, i get to fly to Japan!!! woohoo~ initially was to Osaka but they changed the venue to Tokyo this year instead! 😀
together with William, another blogger as well 😉
On board the plane!
Our flight was somehow delayed by 15 mins, all thanks to this passenger whom refused to exchange her seat with the mother of a son, whom is sitting beside her. Supposed there’s some issue with the ticket seat arrangement previously. I mean why is it sooo difficult to give up ur seat for the mother to sit beside her son so that she can take care of her? Unless you are willing to help and take care of her son lor. seriously~! in the end, the cabin crew reassigned another seat for the mother and son.
I was really hungry and couldn’t wait for the plane to take off soon so i can have my breakfast/lunch served! and here it is 😉
and throughout the 7 hours flight, i managed to catch 2 animation, KungFu Panda 2 and Rio (which i didn’t managed to catch it in the cinema) not bad… very entertaining 😀 !
and finally after 7 hours of flight, we touched down at Narita Airport! 😀
it was drizzling when we arrived but that didn’t dampen our excited mood 😉
That’s me with my HUGE luggage! 🙂 Harlo~ tokyo is shopping heaven leh! so must bring BIG BIG luggage there la!
Boarded the coach that will bring us to our hotel 😉
The very first thing i spent my money on was a bottle of green tea 😉
OK! dun get mistaken.. this is not woodland custom HDB estate but i do agree that it looks like one ;P
and here we are! after spending 7 hours on flight, 2 hours plus on bus (including the terrible jam), we arrived at our hotel! Shinjuku Washington Hotel in Shinjuku area 😉
vending machine available at the lobby where you can easily get your beer, drinks…
and cigarettes..
and here’s my room! super “cosy” i would say but i loved it! 😉
it was ard 9.30pm when we checked into the hotel (japan is one hour ahead of singapore) and we couldn’t wait to have our dinner ASAP! So.. we settled our first meal in japan at the restaurant below our hotel.
Super nice setting! There’s live fishes swimming around and you can fish them yourself!
starting off with beer and our appetizer which is mashed radish and mini prawns. You will need to mix it with some vinegar before you eat it. Personally, i dun quite like it :X
William ordered this set meal for his dinner. Unagi rice if i’m not wrong.. something different as you will need to mix in the sauce, the unagi, the soup in the pot and the 3 side garnishes in to eat.
4 types of soy sauces to choose from. Ranging from salty to non salty and some taste alittle sweet as well 😉 Different sashimi goes with different soy sauce..
SUPER FRESH!!! NICE~!!
I ordered this Kimchi pork with cheese (yes i know im in japan and not korea, but i wanted to have MEAT and this is the best i can find) and it taste pretty yummeh~! 😀
Jeff ordered the fried noodle which taste super nice as well~!
small vending machine on the table…
Happy Fishing! 😉
and this is where we had our dinner. loved the whole dinning experience there ;D !
After we are done with our dinner, it’s ard 10 plus and we decided to explore the late night life of tokyo since its a friday night! so we walked along shinjuku area and in search of the famous red light district 😛
Japan is currently in the progress of saving electricity after the disastrous tsunami and earthquake, therefore it’s not surprisingly to see building with no lights at all in the night..
it’s 12am but the night is still young in tokyo!
and here we are! 😀 the famous red-light district in shinjuku
Girls bar… mmm not for the guys, but for the ladies… you know what i mean if you are smart enough 😉
such hotel can be found everywhere over there…
surprisingly, you dun get to see much girls along the street (those girls i refer to over here at prostitute) but lots of guys roaming along the street. We, very obviously dressed like a tourists was approached by them quite frequently and we are mistaken as Korean, Taiwan, Hong Kong and none recognized us as Singaporeans. lolx~ but surprisingly, ALOT of these guys are very Bilingual! they are actually PRC and they can speak FLUENTLY in CHINESE! hahaha~ and they are all very direct as they will just ask if u want to *ahem* and they will invite you to the various “bars and pubs” to have a look at the girls available. BUT we didn’t try to go in and see despite them saying its free as we dun wan to kena “CHOP” by them.
Visited the super mart and convenience store whereby they sell WHOLE LOT of stuff before heading back to the hotel…
and this is what i bought back to spend my night bloggin away.. YES, i am doing LIVE bloggin during my trip in tokyo, specially for joyce and the boys.
time check after i’m done was almost 4am in the morning…
