Not sure if you guys are aware that i was one of the M1 Blackberry Ambassador for the past 2 and a half months, but the main purpose of this post was to share with you guys on my experience as a M1 Blackberry Ambassador, which sadly to say, wasn’t a pleasant one…
In May 2011, i was really excited when i was notified that i was being selected as a M1 Blackberry ambassador. Details given at first was that being a MBA (in short for M1 Blackberry Ambassador cos very tiring to type out the whole name yea!), you will receive
- The latest Blackberry smartphone
- M1 smartphone plan
- Blackberry service
- $50 Paypal credit to buy apps from Blackberry App World
Sounds exciting isn’t it?!
So i happily attended the briefing at Intercontinental but was somehow getting alittle disappointed after the training programme. We aren’t really being “selected” as the MBA as we need to hit a certain quota of SALES. OK, that makes me sounds more like a salesman than a ambassador. (From my knowledge, a ambassador is to use the products and share it with friends and the public right?) but sadly to say, we needa hit a quota of 25 sales in order for us to stay in the MBA programme.
BUT luckily we dun have to pay anything for the monthly bill and the handset.
Now here’s my FIVE disappoinment :
First Disappointment
Now, tell me what you think about this requirement needed from the so called ambassador? For me, personally i think this is kinda ridiculous. 25 sales within 2 months? Its not like a product, vouchers or what leh. It’s a MOBILE PHONE PLUS a MOBILE LINE LEH! I know they are trying to make use of your social network to help them boost their sales but its like most of us got a mobile line with us already right? so you can’t expect pple to go sign up a NEW line just to show their support for you as a ambassador right? It’s a freaking 2 year plan leh! So i seriously think this is not going to work la.
Second Disappointment
From what was written on the contract, during our PROBATION period, we will receive a monthly $50 credit through paypal for us to purchase the applications on the bbm to share with our friends. BUT, ever since the very first $50 i received from them in JUNE, for the month of July and August, i received NOTHING~ $0
*latest update : those on Probation will only receive ONE $50 credit. -.-”
Third Disappointment
Every Referral we manged to get, we will be rewarded with a small amount of incentive through paypal as well, BUT sad to say once again.. my incentive for my successful referral made in JUNE was not credited in yet till date, which is more than 2 months yea!
Fourth Disappointment
We tend to receive reminders on late payment for our bills (whereby we do not have to pay for) and the most ridiculous thing that happened was that they actually terminate off our line! LOLX~ the best joke of the year for me la~ Are you trying to tell me that all your staff wasn’t informed about this MBA programme? I called up the service hotline and inform them about the termination and they told me : “M1 blackberry ambassador? what’s that? Anyway you have a outstanding of $XXX, you will need to clear your outstanding payments before we can reactivate your line again.” WA HA HA HA HA! And after explanining again and again to them, they only managed to get back to me 2 days later! yes TWO DAYS LATER! efficient or wat?
Fifth Disappointment
I have friends visiting the shop and bought a bbm with line but they couldn’t use the $50 off when they presented my namecard as the staff in the shop told them that we didn’t received any details about this MBA programme and we can’t issue you the $50 off. WA HA HA HA ! another joke of the year again! You come up with this programme yet your staff are not aware about it?
And after this almost 3 months as a so call MBA, unfortunately, i didn’t managed to stay in the programme as i didn’t manage to hit the quota as requested (which in the first place i knew i wouldn’t be able to make it.)
Therefore, it’s time for me to bid goodbye to my blackberry 9780 which lasted me through my ICT (it’s really a good phone 🙂 just tat i can’t stand the way they handle this issue.)
But one thing i’m happy about is that i managed to make new friends through this programme! ;D Gd Luck to those whom’ve managed to make it to the OFFICIAL MBA which im not sure who actually make it there..
I’ve dropped them an email regarding the payment issue and lets see what’s their reply.
