UPDATE: Honestbee had made a full compensation for the damaged jacket on 1 Feb 2017.
Never ever send your laundry to Honestbee for dry cleaning if you do not want to take the risk of having your winter coats or jacket damaged. If you are one of my loyal readers, you will noticed that I seldom write or complain much on my blog as I usually try not to have much negativity post on my blog. However, I think there is a need for me to share my extremely bad and disappointed experience with HonestBee laundry here with you as I do not want you to be the next victim.
After returning from my visit to Japan, I was looking for dry cleaning services for my winter coat and jacket and I remembered that HonestBee launched a laundry services last year online. So, I decided to find out more and with reasonable prices plus a promotion ongoing for first time user, I placed an order to send my winter jacket for dry cleaning with them.
I was impressed by the services they provide as they collected the items from me and return back when it’s ready, which saves me the hassle and time of having to send and collect the items from the dry cleaning shop. As the winter jackets are rather expensive, I dropped a comment to inform them to handle the items with care upon submitting my order.
3 days later, my winter jackets is ready for collection and to my horror when I received them back, they actually damaged my winter jacket during the dry cleaning process. Can you tell the what went wrong?
The faux fur on the hoodie was badly damaged! I’m sure if you are running a dry cleaning business, you would know what is the correct way to handle this right? Just for your info, the faux fur attached to the jacket can be removed, so I do not accept the explanation that it was damaged because they are non-detachable!
I quickly dropped them an email (there isn’t any email address available on their website and I have to reply back to the order confirmation email in order to reach them) and demand for a full compensation of the damaged jacket on 12 Jan, one day after the item was received and on the next day, I received a reply from them to inform that investigation is ongoing.
On 20 Jan, which is 8 days later, HonestBee replied to apologize upon confirming that they winter jacket was damaged during the dry cleaning process, therefore they will be making compensation on this. Now, the second part of the nightmare begin. 6 days later, they informed me that according to their T&Cs, they are only able to compensate a maximum amount of $250. As the item was actually on loan from Timberland, it’s retailing at $699 in store and I will need to pay for the outstanding amount of $449 for a mistake made by the laundry provider! This is totally ridiculous and unacceptable.
Therefore based on the horrifying experience I had with them, I would strongly recommend to avoid or reconsider engaging their laundry services, unless you would like to take the risk of having your items damaged.
As the slogan says Life isn’t perfect but your laundry can be.
I doubt so.
