Pho Street, serving authentic Vietnamese pho and street delights at two successful outlets at Westgate and Bedok Mall, recently had a new vibrant dining ambience to complement it’s brand-new revamped menu. We’re lucky to try it out and… we loved it!
Headed by Chef Hà Vị Cang Kenny, with his more than a decade of experience, Pho Street’s provides a vibrant flavours of authentic Vietnamese dishes.
We had a few street snacks to start off our meal as appetizer.
Fresh Summer Rolls with Prawn, Pork Belly & Fresh Herbs ($4.90/2pcs). This traditional Vietnamese rolls is not only light and healthy, it’s refreshing and very firmly wrapped. Dipped it with the dark sweet soya sauce topped with crushed peanuts, it gives you that additional punch to the taste.
If you are looking for variety, get the Snack Platter ($8.90) which includes Crispy Fried Pork Rolls (2pcs), Roasted Chicken (2pcs), Vietnamese Crabcakes (2pcs) which will make a good mix to your mains.
Next we have the Crispy Fried Chicken Mid-wings served with Caramelised Sweet Dip ($4.90/3pcs) tasted a little like the prawn paste chicken, which we think it’s average.
But the next street snacks that was served got to be my favourite among the rest. Sesame Rice Crackers with Fragrant Minced Meat and Spices Dip ($6.90).
It’s soooo good! the meat is juicy and when you eat it with the rice crackers, I’m sure you will fall in love with it, just like I did!
Now how about the mains? Did it score just as well as the street snacks we had?
Pho Street’s signature Pho selections consist of six varieties of Pho and in each piping bowl of Pho served, is this light a flavourful broth that has been boiled for long hours to extract the natural goodness of marrow-rich beef bones.
For the beef lover, you definitely cannot miss the Pho Beef Combination ($9.90) consisting of beef slices, balls, shank, tendon and tripe.
If you are not into beef and would like to try something more adventurous, I would recommend you to have the Dry Rice Vermicelli with Roasted Pork Chop & Spring Rolls ($8.90) which in terms of presentation, it does look like the Korean bibimbap. Don’t you agree with me? Personally I quite like this as if you know me well, I love anything that is mixed, just like the korean bibimbap 😛
And if carbs, like rice is a must for you, then try the Roasted Pork Chop with Fragrant Rice ($7.90) which is like our Char Siew Rice, just that the roasted pork here is not sliced the usual way we also see it.
If all the above is not what you want, how about trying out the Banh Mi Combination ($6.90), filled with Pork Belly, Grilled Beef and Chicken Ham. It’s like eating subway but the bread is so much crispier and tasty. Just take note that it might get a little messy eating this, so get your tissues ready.
For a delightful complement to your meal at Pho Street, Chef Kenny have also created two authentic Vietnamese desserts for the sweet-tooth and an assortment of beverages to quench your thirst. From the unique Cream of Mung Bean ($3.50) to refreshing Lemon Cooler with Peppermint & Basil ($3.50), fantastic options await the discerning diner.
Enjoy an exciting taste of Vietnam at Pho Street today! 🙂
