As all of us know, Singapore is a country filled with a unique food heritage and we all love to eat. At Le Kue, they uses genuine French techniques to go beyond traditional tastes and memories without transgressing them.
Le Kue is located along Haji Lane and the desserts displayed is good enough to make you walk in and take a closer look at it. Yes, it’s that attractive 🙂
As I was waiting for my hair appointment, which is on the same stretch of Haji lane, and I was early, I popped by the cafe to stay away from the heat. However, instead of taking the seats indoor, which is fully air-conditioned, I decided to take the outdoor seat for some people watching as well as enjoying the vibe in the area. I was glad that I made that decision 🙂
As usual, I ordered my favourite latte and it comes in a interesting glass.
One of the latest plated dessert, Le Kue Bread Butter Pudding, with vanilla sauce, raspberry coulis, raspbery purée, mixed berries and premium vanilla ice cream. It not only looks good, but it taste good too.
Sitting just right next the to the fridge where the desserts are is just not helping. I couldn’t resist the temptation and order a Lemon Meringue Tart as it looks so good 🙂 True indeed, a good balance of the tart crust and lemony taste, yet not too overly sweet. I like it!
Other than trying out the desserts, I revisited the cafe again at night for their food and I must say, some of the dishes surprised me!
It’s a total different ambient at night. The indoor seating area looks really cosy that you would want to spend your evening in there enjoy the food and the desserts.
LE KUE Iced Tea, with a tint of lemongrass taste in it. Very refreshing!
Linguine ‘Alle Noci’, a creamy based walnut pasta with freshly roasted walnuts and pine nuts, topped with crispy Turkey bacon and truffle infused walnut sauce. As they’ve ran out of bacon that night, mine didn’t come with any, but it’s good enough and it taste really nice. One of the dish that I will strongly recommend you to try.
Finger food is available as well. Truffle Balado Fries, truffle infused fries covered with authentic indonesian style Balado Chilli sauce. It’s like fries covered with sambal chilli. Spicy and addictive hahaha~
Le Kue Wings comes in 5 pieces and they are well marinated for 2 days in 15 secret ingredients served with an intense spicy peanut sauce. It’s good when we had the first piece, but after our second piece of the wings, we find it a little salty.
and to complete our dinner, how can we not save some space for desserts right?
Le Sphere, the most atas looking desserts there hahaha~ Hazelnut brownie, chocolate mousse, peal, crumbs and ice cream all encased in this chocolate sphere where hot chocolate sauce will be poured over it when served. I’m sure you will go WOOO~~ WOW~~~, just like us haha!
and if you want, why not have a cup of coffee before leaving?
Le Kue is also a great place for Muslim friends to visit, though it is not Halal certified, as they are using high end chocolate from France and they have no halal certification, but they are doing their best to get halal certified ingredients such as pure chocolates and milk.
The Muslim co-owner is the one actively managing the outlet and non-halal food is strictly prohibited in the outlet too. 🙂
Le Kue do not get recipes from internet but from Michelin starred restuarants and create them with proper french techniques. So If you are looking for some old time classic French desserts along with some Asian inspiration, pop by Le Kue and try it out today!
