Singapore – Famous Treasure is a Chinese restaurant that serves Nanyang fare – a cuisine celebrating the Teochew, Hokkien and Cantonese cultures assimilated into south-east Asia and currently, they are offering a very good deal where customers will enjoy 50% off Famous Treasure’s Signature Takeaway Special Menu(self-collection only) when ordering directly with the restaurant.

We tried a few dishes that might inspire you for lunch or dinner, starting with the Crabmeat with Fish Maw Soup which tasted the same as sharks fin soup that is normally served at Chinese wedding dinner. The Fish maw was tender and had a good bite while the crab gave it a good seafood flavour. Ultimately we feel that Sharks fin is really unnecessary and it is the chef’s skill that really brings out the essence of the ingredients.

Famous Treasure Roasted Honey Glazed Barbeque Pork. The red morses of Chashu had a good bite and the right thickness so that you get a good mouthful of meaty goodness.

The Singapore Chilli Prawn with Fried Bun is a good choice if you want the spicy zing of chilly crab but you are too lazy to deshell seafood. The sauce was a good balance with the crunchy prawns. The cute little pillow of fried buns was sweet and a nice dip for the sauce.

The Deep-Fried Marble Goby with Chinchalok Sauce was fresh and satisfying, a good choice for sharing. The chinchalok sauce was slightly tangy and spicy, the plus point was that it did not have a fishy smell so not to worry about it being over-pungent.

We loved the smooth and silky Braised sliced mushroom with black garlic. The spongy mushroom had a deep umami flavour and the black garlic gave the dish a slight sourish contrast.
