Marina Bay Countdown 2013 Official Blogger
*Waves* Hello! Together with the other 4 bloggers (Daddy M, The Cambelles, Daeng Rizam, Deenise Yang and myself ), we are your Marina Bay Countdown 2013 Official Bloggers! 😀
I’m so excited and happy to be one of the official bloggers as you know, i spent almost all my countdown party for the past few years at marina bay (damn die hard supporters okay!) hahaha~ So this year, being one of the official bloggers, i get to know more about the hard work put into the preparations for the biggest party of the year in singapore. can’t wait! 😀
Just in case you are not aware of what is this Marina Bay Countdown all about, here’s a brief introduction.
Started in 2005, the Marina Bay Singapore Countdown is a contemplative celebration that brings people from all walks of life together and aims to connect them through a collective expression of their wishes for the year ahead. Wishes are written on white wishing spheres and lit as part of a visual arts presentation in Marina Bay. Jointly presented by Esplanade and the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA), the development agency for Marina Bay, the event hopes to create a New Year’s Eve tradition, which is unique to Singapore and offers an opportunity for the community to bond in a meaningful way.
Not forgetting friends and family members who are overseas, a dedicated website has been created to enable overseas Singaporeans and friends of Singapore to ‘virtually’ be part of this meaningful celebration. By logging on to www.marina-bay.sg/countdown, they can submit their wishes online and send personalized greetings with the newly introduced digital Wish Cards to friends and loved ones from all over the world.
Not bad right, they not only care about the people over here in singapore, but the singaporeans overseas as well!
SO.. what activities can YOU expect to see/attend for this year Marina Bay Countdown 2013?
The Significant Wishing Spheres Project. This is extremely important and i would considered it one of the main highlights of the whole marina bay countdown project as every single one of us can pen down our wishes on these wishing spheres at 27 wishing stations located island wide, which will then be lit and afloat on marina bay, creating a water installation on marina bay. Together with lighting and lasers, it’s just sooo beautiful~ dun believe me? see the pics taken last year!
