Watanabe Coffee, also known as WA-Café was opening in 2015 and is relatively new along Orchard Road. Located at Isetan Scotts, get ready to be served with handmade freshly brewed, gourmet Syphon Coffee, Dutch style cold brewed coffee & ‘Uji-Maccha’ premium Japanese Green Tea from Kyoto, selection of traditional Japanese and Western fusion cuisine.
After hearing good reviews of the food here, we decided to have our dinner there. It was quite crowded when we arrived and a bar front seats was offered to us. It was alittle squeezy therefore we decided to wait for the next available seats and luckily the wait wasn’t too long.
It actually reminds me of Ma Maison when I was browsing through the menu, but i guess Ma Maison have a lot more variety of food to choose from. We ordered two mains to share, which includes the Pork Katsu Curry rice, one of the signature dish in Wantanabe Coffee.
The curry was fragrant and nice and the pork katsu was well cooked, but we thought it would be good if the katsu can come in a bigger size, just like the one from Monster Curry, which both of us LOVED!
The Seafood Pasta was okay and we think it’s a little pricey for the portion we are paying for.
Although Wantanabe Coffee is well known for its dessert, we didn’t get to try any that night but we should be coming back again to try the dessert if we are around the vicinity.
