Located just 15 minutes away from Singapore’s Changi Airport, Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy is definitely close to everything that both leisure and business travellers can experience an authentic and immersive Singapore travel experience.
Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy lies in the heart of historical Katong filled by rich Peranakan influences which comprises a unique ethnic cluster of Singapore’s Chinese, Malay, Indian and Eurasian cultures.
Check in was pretty fast upon arriving at the spacious hotel lobby.
There is a wave cafe located at the lobby where you can grab light bites such as sandwiches or desserts and drinks while waiting for the free shuttle bus services provided by the hotel.
Hotel guests can enjoy the complimentary daily shuttle services to and from Singapore Changi Airport, and a shuttle service to Marina Bay, Esplanade and Ion Orchard, departing the hotel every hour, 3 times before noon, on weekends and public holiday. This will help you save on your transport fee from the airport to the hotel. A very nice gesture from them 😉
Our rooms is located level 15, which is at a pretty high floor level.
Here’s our 52sqm Studio Suite, decorated in earthly hues with a minimalist Zen flavour.
You can enjoy complimentary Internet and WIFI as well as telephone with IDD service for international business calls in the room. There is also a LCD flat screen tv filled with cable and radio channels.
There is a sofa couch and coffee table at one corner of the room where you can enjoy your tea while enjoying the view from your room.
Free coffee and tea making facilities.
Basic drinks such as mineral water, soft drinks, beers as well as chocolates can be found in the mini bar.
The bathroom is surprisingly huge with a bathtub in it. Always love hotels with a bathtub 😛
Guests staying in Executive rooms and suites will enjoy exclusive services at the Executive Lounge located on level 17 where they provide evening cocktails and some refreshment bites.
There is also a small business corner where you can browse and print documents if you need to at the executive lounge.
We brought our laptop along and took this opportunity to do some work while enjoying a refreshing drink in a quiet environment and gaze at the breathtaking sea view.
Other than the executive lounge, other facilities such as the swimming pool and gym can be found in the hotel too. The outdoor swimming pool includes a baby pool as well as sun decks on level4 for sunbathe lovers. The pool is open from 6:00am to 10:00pm daily 😉
The well equipped Fitness Centre located at level 4 is open 24 hours, so guests can visit and sweat it out whenever they want to. Treadmills, stationary bikes, free weights and strength training equipment can all be found in the gym.
Breakfast is served at Feast and East with a selection of local and western buffet spread such as your usual bacon, sausages and egg station as well as porridge, noodles and carrot cake!
We didn’t filled our stomach to the brim but reserved some space for our second round of breakfast at the Executive Lounge. The spread is somehow similar to the one we had at Feast and East but it is less crowded and you get to enjoy a nicer view hahaha!
Overall, our stay with Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy was surprisingly pleasant and we are both very pleased with the service staff. They are friendly and very willing to help provide solution and making arrangement to suit your need.
