Gude Gude Gude tama~ Yes! that’s the song of this cute little yellow runny egg yolk, a Sanrio character introduced in 2013. His name is a play on “gude gude”; used to describe someone with no energy or strength and tama from tamago (egg). Now this cute little character opened it’s own cafe here in Singapore at Suntec City!

The waiting time to enter this cafe when it first opened last year in December was minimally 3 hours and we’re lucky to get a seat after queuing for about an hour plus. Gudetama Café Singapore is a 112-seater cafe which consist of a main dining area and an indoor green wall with interesting interior decor, such as egg shaped booths and waffle ceilings.

After having a below average experience on the food we had at Pompompurin Café, we got to know that this new themed café is started by homegrown brands Joe & Dough and The Soup Spoon, therefore we are expecting some quality and decent food. True enough, they didn’t fail us on that.

We ordered the Big “NUA” Breakfast $25.90, comes with bacon strips, spicy pork bratwurst, sauteed mushrooms, greens and two sunny side-up on a baked brioche which forms up a hearty and filling meal.

For sweet savory lover, you will probably love the Waffles and Chicken $23.90, which comes with a piece of moist and tender grilled chicken thigh on top of a waffle where you can drizzled on the maple syrup that comes together with it.

I’m truly impressed with the food styling by local bento artist @LittleMissBento as everything on the menu are so photo-worthy!

Especially like the desert we ordered, The Shoyu Ramen $21.50, is not your usual savoury ramen but it’s actually a chocolate mousse cake! You should definitely try this out.

Although the pricing of the food might not be very cheap, ranging between $18.00 to $38.00, I’m pretty sure that you will enjoy the food as it’s good and at the same time appreciate the effort made to style these dishes. If you are a Gudetama fan, you can grab some of the exclusive merchandise available at the café such as plush toys, mugs, bags and even luggages too!

Don’t forget to take a photo with Gudetama before leaving the café!
