Asia’s leading and trusted online concierge and delivery service, today announced its collaboration with the National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre (NVPC) as part of Giving Week 2016 for the second year running. With the aim of making a greater difference in giving back to the local community, honestbee customers are – for the first time – invited to give a ‘Gift of Time’ this year by volunteering.
“This is the second year we are participating in Giving Week, and we are glad to spread the festive cheer during this season of giving and love. As a social impact business, we are always thinking about how we can contribute to our community to make life better and easier for all,” said Joel Sng, co-founder and CEO, honestbee. “This year, customers not only have the option of donating bags of groceries worth $30 each, but also their time to engage with these families we are supporting. Thank you in advance to all our bees, partners and customers for making this a success.”
‘Gift of Love’
Customers can spread the festive cheer by purchasing a ‘Gift of Love’ – a halal grocery bag worth $30. These bags will be delivered to families supported by Beyond Social Services and Lakeside Family Services. Each bag includes fresh produce such as meats, vegetables and eggs.
‘Gift of Time’
Together with honestbee employees, customers who make time to volunteer will be packing and delivering the ‘Gift of Love’. This way, they can have the option to experience firsthand, the impact of their donation to these families.
From 2 to 20 December, customers can simply visit honestbee.sg or use the honestbee app, downloadable via the Apple App Store or Google Play Store to pledge their ‘Gift of Time and Love’. The purchased bags of groceries will be delivered to families during the volunteer sessions from 20 to 23 December, between 4pm and 7pm at Jalan Bukit Merah, Bukit Ho Swee and Jurong East.
