*Update : GastroSmiths is now relocated to i12 Katong. Outlet at Bugis is permanently closed.
Gastrosmiths was known as The Humble Loaf, which used to be located at B1 of Katong Shopping Centre which i didn’t visit before. Previously serving mainly simple sandwiches, cakes and coffee, Gastrosmiths is currently located along Beach Road and Tan Quee Lan St, serving dishes and desserts with a slant towards French, Italian and Japanese influences.
I guess it’s one of the longest time we spent browsing through the menu, though there’s only one A4 page, but every single item on the menu looks soo damn good! We’re really having a hard time deciding on which to order. SO, we grab hold of the super friendly, and cute waiter for his recommendation. I must say, I love his recommendation as they’re all so good!
while waiting for the food, let me take a selfie 😛
This is one really unique mains that we had for the night. Thick flaky cod that has been cooked lightly in chilli oil, fried misua cooked in dashi stock and tossed in homemade kimich puree and finished with sweet mirin.
Atlantic Cod Misua ($24), an original creation where the Exec. Chef got inspired from a meal he ate in Korea, where the bbq marinated fish was paired with noodles and mashed spring onions.
I ordered the Slow-cooked Pork Collar Pasta ($21) as I’m a fan of PORK and it’s really awesome.
Oh not forgetting the sides we ordered. Crispy Chicken Bite with sake marinade and house-blend sauce. So good that we couldn’t resist popping in one after another, and in no time, we cleared the plate. HAHAHA!
Cakes freshly baked in house for desserts. They are always changing and inventing new cakes, so you might be trying out different cakes everything you visit them! This is one sinful cake but we just have to order and try it. Luckily it’s worth all the calories intake. hahahaha~
How can we not order the latte right? Once again, they suprises us with this latte which is not the normal latte that you will find everywhere. Why not try this Shoyu Caramel Latte which gives you a hint of saltiness aftertaste? One interesting latte which you shouldn’t miss during your visit.
Definitely going back again to try out the other food they have on the menu 😉
