Here comes the festive season! It’s also the month which i love the most as it’s time to celebrate christmas! 😀 It’s also the month where u have good food, drink some nice wine and enjoy an awesome party with your loved ones. So.. getting a good bottle of wine is actually quite important right?
Was invited for a wine tasting session last weekend and i had a great time chillaxing and drinking the 3 different wines specially prepared by edwin, the lao ban of my wine shop.
The first bottle of red wine we tasted was from Albali, Valdepenas, Spain 2008 (6 months ageing). It’s brilliant ruby red colour. Deep, fresh aromas with rich notes of spice and fruit. The palate is full bodied, complex, with a long finish.
Next we have Albali, Valdepenas, Spain 2007 (12 months ageing). Ruby red colour, clear and brilliant, with hints of ripe cherry. Deep, fresh fruit aromas with rich notes of spice and vanilla. The palate is balanced and well structured.
and lastly we have the Albali, Valdepenas, Spain 2006 (18 months ageing). Deep ruby red colour, with terracotta and ripe cherry tones. The nose is intense, with dark fruit, spice and vanilla aromas. The palate is powerful and rich followed by a long finish of ripe fruit and polished tannins.
Seriously im not very good in drinking and tasting wine as to me,i find they taste all the same lolx! but after a few tasting session i’m able to tell which one i prefer or i find it easier to drink. so you might not find me elaborating as much as how i do so for a food tasting event. 😛 Out of the 3 bottles that i’ve tried, i prefer the second bottle as i just find it more soothing and easier to drink 🙂
One thing i like about my wine shop is that they hold wine tasting pretty frequently where by they explain to you what you are drinking, tell you more about the background of the wine so you can have a better understanding. 🙂 No wonder their tagline is “Your Friendly Wine People” ahahaha~
They are having a New Zealand wine tasting session this coming thursday and saturday! If you are interested to go for the session, RSVP at edwin@mywineshop.com.sg
