adidas Consortium will be presenting its latest Superstar and ZX Flux Batik collection in collaboration with Singapore’s leading sneaker boutique Limited Edt at Singapore’s premier sneaker and streetwear convention, Sole Superior on 21 Nov 2015. Inspired by the heritage, traditional attires and cultural roots of Singapore, the shoes’ familiar silhouettes will be draped in distinctive batik design, spotlighting the traditional technique of wax-resist dyeing to the global street wear community.
On top of the refreshing mix of graphic elements, materials, and well-placed highlights, Limited Edt has also created a custom floral pattern incorporating Singapore’s national flower, an orchid, the adidas Trefoil, and the store’s own emblem for both shoes.
ZX Flux
The ZX Flux, with its all-fabric upper, clearly carries most of the custom pattern where the Batik print covers the whole shoe. The transparent stripes and off-white midsole with translucent blue outsole provide the signature ZX Flux build, while the rose gold coloured heel cage, eyelets, Torsion bar, and lace jewel with Limited Edt emblem give a shiny finish to the design. Each pair of the shoes comes with two sets of laces with rose gold coloured tips.
Superstar 80v
Meanwhile, the Superstar received its Batik treatment on its tongue, lining, and heel tab to complement the ultra-soft, black premium leather upper and stripes, with an unmistakable rose gold shell-toe as well as adidas and Limited Edt branding. The off-white midsole comes with contrasting black stitching, and each pair of the shoes also comes with two sets of laces with rose gold coloured tips.
Picking a flower pattern as the main theme in addition to adding gold as prominent detail was a daring move by Limited Edt. The outcome, however, clearly proves their expertise in balancing out contrasting elements to create a bold, yet perfectly wearable statement for the adidas Consortium series.
The Limited Edt x adidas Consortium Batik Collection is available for pre-order from 21 November 2015 at the Sole Superior Singapore.
