Staycation at Hotel Jen Tanglin Singapore

Formerly known as Traders Hotel and now Hotel Jen Tanglin Singapore, it went through an extensive SGD45 million makeover from head to toe and we’re happy to spend a short staycation over the Valentine’s weekend there 🙂

The industrial modern hipster look caught my attention upon entering the hotel lobby, with the soft warm lightings and a huge green wall with plants potted on it which gives every visitor a welcoming ambient.

It didn’t took us long to check-in to our room, despite the crowd that is staying over for Valentine’s Day. Staff was really enthusiastic and friendly which makes us feel home 🙂

There is a total of 565 new, contemporary guestrooms housed in the 18-storey high hotel which come with four modern, locally curated wallpaper designs highlighting different Singaporean themes such as Bicycle, Orchid, Goldfish and Shop house.

Each room includes free WiFi, a must for hotels to provide, USB charging outlets and a king-size “floating bed” with 300-thread-count linens.

There is also a Club lounge located on the 17th floor, with open views of the nearby residential neighbourhood and offers a wide variety of healthy breakfast items and a range of local and international cocktails and canapes in the evening which makes it one of the most popular area of the hotel.

Located on the fourth level, there is a business centre with facilities such as printer and iMac for your usage.

On the same level, you will have access to the outdoor pool where you can take a dip or do an easy lap in the 30-metre-long swimming pool or just relax in the outdoor whirlpool.

Although we are on a staycation but we will not miss the chance to hit the gym as well! Hotel Jen Tanglin offers a spacious 105-sqm workout area overlooking the pool and the equipments available are quite comprehensive, ranging from treadmills to heavy weights machines.

All you need to do is to sign in at the gym reception counter and you will be given a electronic key tags where you can keep your belongings in the big lockers. There all also shower rooms with good water pressure and a indoor Jacuzzi, steam room and sauna available for all hotel guest to use too.

Hotel Jen Tanglin Singapore is conveniently located within walking distance to the well known Orchard road shopping district as well as the first UNESCO world heritage site of Singapore, Botanical Garden. There are also a few nice cafes and shops, including a supermarket at Tanglin Mall, just right beside the hotel. Free shuttle service to Orchard road and weekday morning shuttle services to the Central Business District are available as well.
