Get ready to indulge in fresh whole durian fruits opened ala minute, Durian Pengat with Gula Melaka (durian mousse with palm sugar), or catch chefs-in-action at the Durian Pancake station as Oscar’s bring back Local Delights to its buffet line in celebration of Singapore’s 52nd National Day. This will also be the first time the king of fruits being introduced as part of the dessert buffet spread too!
Helmed by Senior Chef des Cuisines Alex Siah, a tantalising array of local favourites such as Kambing Sup (Malay-style mutton soup), Kam Heong Crab (wok-fried crabs with chilli padi, curry powder and soya sauce), Udang Masak Sambal Tumis (wok-fried prawns with onion, tomato and dried chili paste), Ayam Buah Keluak (Peranakan-style chicken curry with black nut), Dry Bak Kut Teh (fried pork ribs with spices and cuttlefish), Ekor Masak Kicap Pedas (slow-cooked spicy oxtail with soy sauce), Oyster Omelette, Mee Siam, and a selection of Cantonese roast from duck, char siew, crispy pork belly to whole suckling pig, take centrestage for this month-long promotion.
Other local-inspired desserts include Black Glutinous Rice Crème Brulee, Pisang Mas Tartlet (banana tartlet), and Bubur Cha Cha Panacotta (coconut gula melaka milk pudding with sweet potato, yam and coloured jelly topping).
