Artbox Bangkok is a pop-up market, different from the type or flea market we have in singapore as most of them are housed in giant metal shipping containers which can be moved around the city. During our visit in April, we managed to visit the Artbox happening at the EM District.
Something that makes Artbox interesting to visit is that you won’t find the usual kind of tourist souvenirs such as those you see on along Silom or Chatuchak. The things that is sold at the Artbox is relatively cheap, featuring local designers, handmade accessories, hipster home decor items and more.
Other than these, live music stage and wide varieties of food vendors to choose from, makes Artbox one of the coolest night markets that all hipster must visit.
Artbox Bangkok provides a spacious outside garden area complete with benches to sit on to watch the live band.
Artbox originally started as a one-off event next to Makkasan Station, but due to the overwhelming response it garnered, it’s moving around Bangkok and the only way to catch the next upcoming location and dates is to follow their Facebook page (Artboxthailand) where all the events – which they call ‘episodes’ – are promoted.
Find them at facebook.com/Artboxthailand.
