If you have visited Spuds & Aprons previously you might be in for a surprise as the restaurant has been relaunched on 12 October 2018 into the newly formulated garden dining concept Arbora. The restaurant name ‘Arbora’ derives from the latin word ‘arbor’ that means tree, is One Faber Group‘s newest restaurant.

Arbora - Hilltop Restaurant at Faber Peak

We felt that the natural surroundings and interior decor was in line with the theme to allow the natural surroundings to take centre stage. Notable elements include the koi pond, a 13 by 3-metre lush foliage feature wall provides a visual anchor to the restaurant that doubles as a gram-able photo backdrop.

We were invited to the official launch and a sneak peek of the dishes from the all-day dining menu helmed by Executive Chef Kenny Yeo. Let’s take a look at the highlights of the event.

Live Activities stations – Allowed participants to make their own edible gardens and flower-pressed bookmarks.

Roku Gin station – Cocktails are best enjoyed with the fantastic sunset views try the Botanic Zest ($15++SGD),  Made from a combination of Roku Gin, Honey, Fresh Young Ginger, Juniper Berry and Tonic.

Live music – ShiLi & Adi wowed with amazing vocals and we were treated to a whole string of Disney classics!

Food – Arbora’s menu has a wide selection of Western favorites as well as dishes for the casual diner. We got to try a sampler size of quite a few dishes including the Rack of Lamb (S$36++) which is topped with homemade prune sauce instead of mint jelly.

The Braised Beef Cheek (S$36++) 8 Hours Slow-braised Au Jus with Mashed Potato was tender with a burst of flavour. The Crispy Chicken Wings (8pcs) (S$17++) Mid Wings, Chilli Dip were fried just right and are good snacks to go with the many drinks available here

Classic Caesar (S$16) Romaine Lettuce, Bacon Steak, Quail Eggs, Croutons, Caesar Dressing Garlic and the Garlic Tiger Prawns (S$18) Sautéed Sea Prawns, Salad Leaves, Cherry Tomatoes, Garlic, Olive Oil were delightful and tasty.

Smoked Duck Mushroom Ragout (S$22++)  Mushrooms, Spinach Leaves, Cream Sauce, Spaghetti is a crowd pleaser with the smooth creamy texture pair nicely with salty smoked duck.

Views – Romantic and Instagram-able views are plenty ! just take a look at some of the shots we took.

OPENING PROMOTIONS

To celebrate the opening of Arbora, the restaurant is offering a complimentary snack or salad to diners who order any two mains from the menu. On top of that, diners can also take this opportunity to try the signature Arbora craft beers at a promotional price of S$30++ for 3 bottles (U.P. S$36++)
