SINGAPORE – Nestled in an intimate and cosy setting, Chef Teppei Yamashita launched his latest culinary concept, Guriru, with Anagram Food Lab. Located at 2 College Road, this restaurant has a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere with a pool view, making it a perfect spot to unwind after a long day with friends and loved ones. Serving a delicious selection of seafood that will be grilled to perfection over charcoal and its Hamayaki-inspired menu, Guriru is set to tantalize taste buds with its fresh seafood and homemade sauces.

The menu will feature a wide range of seafood, including fresh Hyogo oysters – that can be ordered sashimi style or grilled – black tiger prawns, whole squid, unagi, cod fish and more. Meat lovers will not miss out with a selection of dishes like Meltique Beef and Kurobuta Pork. All sauces at Guriru are homemade to ensure the best quality and taste.

Guriru’s star dish is the Guriru Oyster Rice ($18) – a bowl of slow-cooked Japanese rice topped with fresh hyogo oysters and a special homemade sauce. Seafood lovers will definitely enjoy the Whole Squid ($16). Featuring the freshest locally caught squid that comes direct from Jurong Fish Port, this dish is grilled and brushed with Guriru’s original syoyu sauce. The result is a slightly charred, yet juicy and tender squid that melts in the mouth.

For those who prefer meat, the grilled Japanese Meltique Beef ($18) is the perfect choice, and is finished with a homemade yakitori sauce and topped with garlic chips. Another popular dish that should not be missed out on is Chef Teppei’s signature, the Chirashi Don ($18). It is a medley of seafood flavours with sashimi-grade salmon, swordfish, tuna, whelk, scallop and ikura in a bowl of soft fluffy Japanese rice.

In addition to delicious seafood, there are bar bites and an eclectic drinks menu with non-alcoholic concoctions like the Haru-Momiji ($8), with orange, lemon, lime, grenadine and soda.

For those who would like a tipple or two, there is an array of alcoholic beverages such as Japanese beers, sakes and spirits, as well as a selection of champagne and prosecco – the perfect companion for the Hyogo Oysters. So drop by and enjoy the smoky, grilled goodness that is Guriru!
