Singapore’s most popular year-end event, Christmas Wonderland, returns to Gardens by the Bay featuring exciting new highlights with plenty to amaze visitors of all ages. Its sixth edition will mark the debut of the Christmas Parade, a brand new interactive Santa’s Workshop, a riveting mix of international theatrical productions, a whimsical Poinsettia Wishes floral display, and more three-dimensional light installations, in addition to the event’s traditional games and rides as well as shopping and dining spaces, this 29 November to 26 December 2019.
Adding to the festive atmosphere, for the first time at the Gardens, is Christmas Wonderland’s lively Christmas Parade. Look out for your favourite festive characters on three floats – Santa on his reindeer sleigh, dancing elves and Santarinas, cheeky penguins sneaking out of igloos and snowmen hiding in the Gardens – as they spread festive cheer throughout the fairground on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. On weekdays, Santa will be making his rounds on his reindeer sleigh float looking for those who are naughty or nice.
A magical journey to the North Pole awaits all at the new Santa’s Workshop. Walk through the forest and ‘snow’-filled giant snow globe before witnessing animatronic elves hard at work wrapping presents and fulfilling wishes on their list. Look out for Father Christmas himself as he supervises his elves and grab the
chance to take the perfect family picture.
Over 360,000 bulbs will illuminate the fairground in a dazzling display of over 40 majestic luminarie light
sculptures in brand new designs, including Asia’s tallest luminarie Christmas tree as well as a stunning 21- metre tall Spalliera as the main feature. Inspired by the iconic towers of the San Gimignano hill town in Tuscany, Italy, the Spalliera’s three towers and connecting roof will dazzle visitors with the splendour of the luminarie light display from a three-dimensional perspective.
In addition to the Italian lights, organisers Blue Sky Events have created two stunning art installations for more spectacular photo opportunities. Made up of more than 60,000 bulbs, the Walk of Peace invites visitors to walk through a 50-metre tunnel-like display for a surreal illuminated experience. Soak up the atmosphere as you stroll through the Mistletoe Alley, which has been enhanced with festive lights and enchanting decorations.
There will also be exciting performances, such as theatrical productions, circus as well as Christmas caroling under the magical Cassa Armonica gazebo – right at the heart of the Spalliera at the Supertree Grove – with performances by Inch Chua, Jana Ann & Joy Alexis, Sam Driscoll and more.
Feast on festive delights and shop for gifts at the Christmas Village featuring 24 charming European-style wooden huts. This year’s Christmas Village will feature a host of new craft vendors and limited-edition food and drink launches by Brewerkz and Häagen-DazsTM.
Over in the Flower Dome, a whimsical journey through the Nordic region awaits visitors. This year, Gardens by the Bay’s Poinsettia Wishes floral display adds a Christmas twist to iconic landmarks in the Nordic countries, with creative direction by the Ambassador of Denmark to Singapore, Her Excellency Dorte Bech Vizard.
