The fifth edition of Christmas Wonderland – Singapore’s largest annual ticketed event – will shine brighter than ever. The European-style Christmas fair will feature brand new highlights and a new take on crowd favourites when it returns to Gardens by the Bay this 30 November to 26 December.
Brand new iconic luminarie light sculptures handmade from Italy will transform the 57,000 square metre fairground into a wonderland, with Asia’s tallest luminarie Christmas tree illuminated in gold, at the entrance of Gardens by the Bay. For the first time, a majestic 22-metre high luminarie mirror maze – the biggest in Southeast Asia – will be the main feature of Christmas Wonderland, where visitors can weave through a maze of mirrors at the heart of the Supertree Grove.
Adding a whimsical touch of magic to the festivities is one of the world’s top illusionists, Rob Lake, who will headline the performance tent at Christmas Wonderland with his critically-acclaimed production, ‘The Magic of Rob Lake’. The America’s Got Talent 2018 quarterfinalist and youngest recipient of The Merlin Award is internationally renowned for performing spectacular illusions guaranteed to delight audiences.
For a truly enchanting Christmas, visitors can go on a journey to meet Santa at his Alpine House within the Santa’s Grotto, which has been upsized for 2018. This 400-square metre attraction is the largest of its kind in Asia and will feature even more Instaworthy festive installations and a mesmerising kinetic light installation from Germany. The outdoor skating rink has also been expanded and will feature an eight-metre tall illuminated Christmas tree nestled in the middle.
Over at ‘Slice of SAVOUR’, a bite-sized format of the SAVOUR Gourmet Festival, food lovers can look forward to a brand new concept offering trendy and accessible gourmet comfort food by Saint Pierre, Blue Lotus, Sinfonia Ristorante, Monti, Bee’s Knees and Three Buns as well as artisanal cocktails from Three Wisemen.
Complementing the visual spectacle, a brand new Garden Rhapsody – The Christmas Special light and sound show will make its debut at Supertree Grove.
Relive favourite Christmas traditions
Visitors can also experience the wonders of ‘snow’ in the tropics against a stunning backdrop of luminaries and Supertrees during Blizzard Time. For even more excitement, tons of fun for little ones await at the fairground with gingerbread inflatable houses, traditional carnival games and kiddy rides.
Visitors can also enjoy being serenaded by choral performers under the magical Cassa Armonica gazebo or shop for unique Christmas gifts at the Festive Market. A complete programme line-up and list of vendors will be released in the coming weeks.
In addition, visitors can celebrate the festive holidays with their favourite Tsum Tsum pals at Gardens by the Bay’s “Poinsettia Wishes Featuring Disney Tsum Tsum” floral display in the Flower Dome.
