Darren AngThis Mid-Autumn Festival, Xin Cuisine Chinese Restaurant at Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium is telling a slightly different story with its 2026 collection, themed "Never Just a Mooncake." The idea: the box matters as much as what's inside it, built to be kept and reused long after the festival ends, so the mooncakes become a stand-in for the moments they're shared over rather than just a snack.
A Keepsake to Cherish: The Poet's Dream Box
The collection's centrepiece packaging is the Poet's Dream Box, a blush-toned keepsake box with a crystal-clear cover. The design draws from the classic line "月是故乡明" (the moon is brightest over one's hometown), framed here by a full moon and blooming blossoms, and closes with Xin Cuisine's own poetic addition: "饼是故乡新，月是故乡圆" (the cakes taste freshest from home, and the moon shines roundest over one's hometown).
Beyond the sentiment, it's a genuinely reusable box: a premium textured finish with a compartmentalised interior means it can be repurposed as a jewellery or keepsake case once the mooncakes are gone.
New Flavours: Orange Whiskey & Elderflower Apple Mini Snowskin Mooncakes
Two new mini snowskin flavours join the lineup this year:
- Orange Whiskey Mini Snowskin Mooncake: zesty orange balanced against mellow whiskey notes, for a more grown-up finish.
- Elderflower Apple Mini Snowskin Mooncake: fragrant elderflower paired with crisp apple, light and floral.
Both come in a box of 6 pieces at $84. Alongside these, Xin Cuisine's existing handcrafted baked and snowskin mooncakes remain available, made with the same premium ingredients and techniques as previous years.

For those who want to double up on a gift, the collection also comes in a 1-for-1 promotion, available in two colourways, Blush Pink and Sandy Beige, featuring the Low Sugar White Lotus Seed Paste Baked Mooncake with Double Yolk and the Peranakan Durian Mini Snowskin Mooncake.
