Xin Cuisine – An ideal option for your reunion dinner

With Chinese New Year coming soon, yes 2020 is ending very shortly in a blind of an eye. You would ideally have already heard about phase 3 opening in Singapore and have started making plans.

Curated by Chinese Executive Chef Chan Kung Lai whose origins are from Hong Kong, choose from 6 different set menus that showcase an irresistible array of Cantonese dishes. From the 8-course Blissful Menu at $398++ for 4 persons to the Prosperous Celebrations Menu at $1,398++ for 8 persons, indulge in favourites such as

Here are some of the dishes that we tried.

Alaskan Crab with Salted Egg Yolk Sauce Yu Sheng was a good tangy salad opener, the crab was sweet but we felt that the salted egg yolk was muted and drowned out by the sweet and tangy plum sauce, In any case still a good starter.

Double-boiled Conch Meat with Dried Scallop and Cordyceps Flower was a hearty soup that embodied the sweetness of the seafood. A great stomach opener for the following dishes.

Abalone Treasure pot is a must-have for any Chinese reunion dinner. Each component was well executed and the sauce brought it all together.

Wok-Fried Glutinous Rice with preserved meat was delicious and we appreciated that it was something different from the usual fried rice or noodles. Each mouth was packed with flavour and it also went well with the XO sauce condiments if you like something a bit more savoury.

Our meal ended with the  Xin’s Deep Fried Nian Gao with Coconut milk. The Nian Gao was not overly sweet and was a good finish with the thick coconut milk. We liked that it was not overly oily despite being deep-fried.

Other options in the sets includes dishes such as Xin’s Baby Abalone and Salmon Yu Sheng, Trio Barbecued Meat Platter (Roast Pork, Soya Chicken, Deep-fried Salted Egg Yolk Fish Skin), Steamed Garoupa in Hong Kong Style and Braised Ee-fu Noodles with Live Lobster. The luxurious symphony of flavours will wake up every sense of your palette.

Xin also caters to Dim sum lovers ! we tried the Trilogy of Dim Sum Delicacies – Pork Dumpling, Deep Fried Prawn Dumplings with salad sauce and Deep fried Yam Dumplings

Ringing in the festivities is the star of our Chinese New Year Takeaways – Alaskan Crab with Salted Egg Yolk Sauce Yu Sheng! Oozing with umami from fresh Alaskan Crab, the dish is drizzled with a hint of Salted Egg Yolk sauce that gives a tangy twist to the traditional taste we know of Yu Sheng. Available in small and large portion, for dining in and takeaway.
