Thye Moh Chan which served handcrafted Teochew baked goods since 1943 has updated its 3 Treasures Tau Sar Piah set with the Pine Nuts Tau Sar Piah this year as a limited-edition Chinese New Year exclusive! Its creamy and buttery taste, blended well with the pine nuts that gives a unique nuttiness and light crunch to the traditional sweet mung bean filling.
The set also comes with the popular Bak Kwa Tau Sar Piah and Longan Tau Sar Piah which taste really good as both my mum and myself enjoyed it very much 🙂 A set of 9 pieces (3 flavours each) cost $16.80 and is available from now till 11 February 2017.
Another new addition is the Pineapple & Salted Egg Pastry, which can be a decadent alternative to the pineapple tart this festive season. The savoury-sweet creation combines salted egg yolk with gula-melaka-infused pineapple filling in a delicate pasty that crumbles softly with each bite. Topped with lightly toasted black and white sesame seeds, this is a firm fan favourite and retails for S$20.80 for an eight-piece box.
In addition to speciality Tau Sar Piahs and Pineapple Pastries, consumers can look forward to two Chinese New Year hampers containing an assortment of popular festive snacks ranging from egg rolls and peanut candy to pork floss and Chinese sausage. The hampers, Joyous Hamper and Golden Delight Hamper, cost S$148 and S$168 respectively.
