What do you look for when coming to accommodation during your travel trips? I am sure most people goes for hotels right? Hotels can be rather pricey at times and if you are travelling alone or with a partner and would like to look for another alternative at a cheaper price, i guess a hostel will be good for you. Usually the first impression of a hostel will be very budget, very run down, not well maintained, have to share rooms with others etc, which is true as i have that impression too when it comes to hostel. BUT! after i went for my staycation at 5footway.inn Project Boat Quay, im quite impressed and that totally change my impression of a hostel.
The moment you stepped into the reception/concierge area, you will start to question yourself. Is this a hostel or a hotel?
If i didn’t mention that i am going for a staycation in a hostel, most would thought that which new hotel is this. It looks soo atas la~ i guess the high ceiling with natural lighting plays an important part to this. VERY NICE!
iMacs are available for you to check on your emails, do some surfing or skype with your loved ones too.. Other than having internet access from the mac, 5footway.inn Project Boay Quay provide complimentary WIFI throughout the whole hostel! awesome!!
Now let’s check out my room! i was given a tripple room which can accomodate 3 pax. Totally love the concept and the way they made good use of the space!
View taken from the top.
Interesting right? though the room may seems small but it’s actually quite spacious and they have all the things your need.
There’s a table and chair
A small charging point for your mobile phone or laptop while on bed.
A drawer to safeguard your valuables accessible only with your room key.
Mirror! important!! hahahaha~
Hmm… you must be wondering where is the bathroom right? One thing about staying in a hostel is that they uses common bathroom or toilets. 🙂
Let’s continue to explore around the hostel! i really love the decor used as it’s really nice, simple yet contemporary.
Moving on to the terrace which i think is the most awesome location of the hostel. It’s a combination of an art gallery, a pantry, a lounge and a dinning area with a magnificent view 😀
You can watch movies here with the dvds available…
76 Gallery, a photo exhibition by internationally-renowned photojournalist Edwin Khoo.
Indoor dining area.
Pantry area
Outdoor dining area with view of Marina Bay Sands
Free flow of coffees 🙂
Do remember to label your items in the fridge 🙂

5footway.inn will open its fourth property in the prime Central Business District area by the Singapore River in May 2013. As with every property under the 5footway.inn brand, Project Boat Quay will operate on the simple philosophy that the luxury of a chic accommodation does not have to cost a bomb.
The new property will offer the largest capacity of beds to date, with a floor size surpassing that of current 5footway.inn properties, a number of river-facing rooms and 24-hour reception and security.
Project Boat Quay is situated along the Singapore River, facing the Parliament House and Asian Civilization Museum, and a few minutes’ walk from the legendary Fullerton Hotel, and the central Raffles Place MRT Station. From here, one is a stroll away from Lau Pa Sat, Merlion Park, the Esplanade, and even Chinatown.
