Today i’m gonna bring you guys upclose with the Flair Brothers and for you to know them even better!
Firstly i have to say a very big thank you to Daniel, one of the team leader for the Flair Brothers for the time and effort spent for this interview beside their hectic training schedule. I DEEPLY APPRECIATE T HAT!
Flair Brothers actually came from a larger group, named Flair Nation, which was founded by Daniel in 2007. At that time, Flair Nation consists of a total of 15 members of various styles which is why the name FLAIR came about as Flair equals Variety.
Over the years, the members have somehow found a new direction of what they want in their future, where they went separate ways, perusing in their studies, or specializing in specific dance genres in other crews.
Daniel, Jeremy, Raizal & Luqman decided to stay on and they went through thick & thin (just like you and your army buddy) and when they debut at the Singapore Dance Delight Vol.1 last year, they have a new member in the team, which is Brendan!
That’s is when they realize that these people are not just a crewmates , but more like brothers to each other, whereby they have really strong bonding with one another! and that is also how Flair Nation transformed into the Flair Brothers you and me know about now!

Now here’s a short biography for you to know more about every single one of them! ;D
Daniel, 20 years old, graduated from Republic Polytechnic and is currently awaiting for NS enlistment. Beside dancing, he secretly likes to sing and play on his guitar, love to watch How I Met Your Mother and favourite drink gotta be F&N Ice Cream Soda! which reminds him of his late grandma.
Jeremy, 18 years old (the youngest among all), graduated from ITE Simei and is currently awaiting for Poly admission. Other than dancing, he loves playing computer games.
Brendan Toh, 21 years old, graduated from Republic Polytechnic and is currently awaiting for NS enlistment. There’s nothing we can describe on how much he loves to dance 😉
Luqman, 21 years old is currently serving the NS and loves playing sports like soccer.
Muhd Raizal, 20 years old, currently a student of the Republic Polytechnic and something different about him, he loves to eat! haha~ which i do as well! tell me who don’t love to eat right?
Daniel told me through the interview on how they felt when they knew that they got into the finals for SDD2, he said:
“We feel super thankful & excited at the same time. Thankful because we don’t just meet up for competitions & join. We meet up weekly every week,competition or not,to have regular trainings to improve ourselves so to qualify for something this big,we feel satisfied in a way. Excited obviously because it’s so awesome!”
WOO! felt real happy for them too! and seriously i think they danced really really well at the preliminaries and i’m so excited to see them dance again at the finals!
Daniel also told me that there are quite a few groups that they look upon to like the local Ocrew and international crew in U.S, Japan and France.
When asked about the groups from the Singapore Dance Delight, he thinks that all the groups are awesome! (which i do agree with him). Especially Joyce & The Boys and The Basic Fives! which both managed to make it to the finals!
Daniel do felt that Deep Ft was great as well and they should have made it through to the finals too.
For now, The Flair Brothers are practicing real heard at places like the NYP, RP and *SCAPE for their finals this coming saturday and as Luqman is currently serving the NS, he only have 4 days of practice with them, where they need to tighten up their routine even more.
Hmmmm.. so what can we look forward to in the Finals from the Flair Brothers?
“We are known to many for not caring too much for our costumes everytime we perform as we tend to focus more on our dancing. This time round though,we did put in a little effort,so hurray for everyone. In terms of the dancing,we’ll be enjoying more than we did during prelims,as that’s what dancing is all about.”
Yeah! totally agree!! most importantly is you enjoy yourself throughout the competition!
OH and this is what the Flair Brothers would like to say to all their supporters out there!
We really thank everyone for supporting us through our humble beginnings & most important believing in us as without belief,none of us could be where we are now.
Ain’t you excited that the finals is coming this Saturday, which is tomorrow?! I’m and i can’t wait to see all the teams perform on stage again! OF COURSE one of them got to be the Flair Brothers!
