Shoppers can now be #partofthegood by purchasing a range of lifestyle products by social enterprises at a special pop-up at Naiise@Orchard Gateway from 21 July to 21 August. This initiative is part of FestivalForGood, Singapore’s first-ever festival celebrating social enterprises. Organised by the Singapore Centre for Social Enterprise (raiSE) in collaboration with Naiise, the month-long pop-up will feature a wide array of unique products that include:
• Hand-stitched leather accessories by ONE+ONE, which provides employment opportunities to the less fortunate and equips them with skills to make a living;
• Maker kits for up-cycling by Sustainable Living Lab, a social innovation lab that aims to build a sustainable future through community building, technology experimentation
• Baked delicacies by Flourish Culinary, a social enterprise bakery that provides meaningful employment to graduates from special education schools;
• Cutting-edge fashionwear designed by Singapore Fashion Runway, a nationwide initiative that gathers Singaporeans from all walks of life to co-create Singapore’s unique fashion statement and provides a platform for the less fortunate to discover their talents through fashion;
• Jewellery, accessories and bags by Purnama Outreach, which produces hand-made merchandise by the marginalised with the aim of creating jobs and sustaining education for children in developing countries;
• Hand-woven bags, clothing and notebooks by Torajamelo (in collaboration with Angels of Impact), which ends the cycle of poverty and violence suffered by indigenous women in Indonesia by creating a market for their traditional weaving;
The above are among over 40 social enterprises that will be participating in FestivalForGood on 20 August at JTC Launchpad, Timbre+ and Action Community for Entrepreneurship (ACE) Ideation Centre, and across social enterprises island-wide on 21 August. FestivalForGood promises a weekend of fun-filled activities for all ages including a pop-up market, workshops, live performances and learning journeys to social enterprises.
