Established in 1971, Poon Confectionary is one of the oldest makers of homemade tidbits and Chinese New Year goodies. Famous for Muah Chee and Pineapple Tarts, the Poon Family baked goods from home and sold them at hawker stalls in the streets of Malaysia.

In 2018, the Poon Confectionary expanded to Singapore with the help of partners in Singapore. Keeping in line with the trend of buying goods online in today’s times, a website was launched in Singapore on CNYDelivery.com.

Todays, many traditional bakers have turned to automation and machinery to increase the volume of their goods. However, Poon Confectionary knew that the tastes of each cookie is maintained and upheld by their family tradition of hand-making each cookie by hand, with only light machinery used. With this belief, the Poon Confectionary expanded the bakery without any of the machinery that many other bakers had turned to.

We managed to try out some of the goodies, and here are our top three favourites.

Pork Floss Roll Snack (肉松粒)

Handmade and homemade, you’ll need to try these if you haven’t. The pork floss snack are tiny crispy snacks filled with a very delicious, superior quality pork floss sourced from Taiwan. Very addictive!

Golden Pillow Pineapple Tarts

These amazing pineapple tarts melt in your mouth! The crust is buttery and savoury, crumbling lightly in your mouth as you bite into them. Inside are a generous amount of perfect homemade pineapple jam, filling your mouth with a taste that’s not so sweet – slightly sour, natural pineapple taste.

Arrowhead Chips (Chiku)

The Chiku or Arrowhead chips is highly popular as a Chinese New Year snack. Made from 100% natural ingredients and homemade, these chips are very addictive!

Made with all-natural ingredients with no preservatives and artificial flavours, you’re sure to be impressed with the splendid range of homemade Chinese New Year goodies! What’s more, Poon Confectionary deliver to anywhere in Singapore too.
