Guests and patrons of Hotel Jen Orchardgateway Singapore, as well as the public are invited to visit the Organic-Friendly Farmers’ Market at Makan@Jen Terrace on Level 10 this Saturday, 27 August, where 20 local farmers and vendors whose produce will be on display and available for sale. Expect to see fresh pesto made from locally grown vegetables and herbs by Comcorp to fresh seafood by Ah Hua Kelong and Sea Farmers at Ubin.
Apart from the wide variety of delicious food products on sale, there is also a lot to learn. Improve your knowledge on nutrition with Eden’s Kitchen who will teach you how to stock your home with foods that sustain, heal and nourish. Or you can find out more about our local bee conservationists from Pollen Nation, whose mission is to educate people about the existence and importance of the urban bee.
Lastly, for those who want to take an extra step and acquire some cool urban farming skills this Saturday, you can! Permaculture consultant and designer, Ms. Debbie Han, from Co-create Nature, will be conducting Eat Your Garden, a three-hour workshop (from 2.00pm to 5.00pm) that gets you started with basic knowledge on how to start growing your own produce right in the comfort of your HDB apartment. This is one way to start living a ‘greener’, more sustainable and self-sufficient life. The course comes with a growing kit, notes, and light refreshments courtesy of Hotel Jen Orchardgateway Singapore.
