On new year’s eve, we went for our company nye lunch at the Mouth Restaurant 地茂馆 which i think they are famous for their dim sums (cos i saw most of the tables are ordering dim sums)
Overall i think the food served are pretty ok for me with a few which i think it tastes really good!
The Century Egg with minced pork congee was surprisingly tasty! loved the smooth texture of the congee and the crispy you tiao, i think it’s marvelous!
One of the signature dishes from the restaurant. Rojak Pork Ribs. It’s really nice.. Taste just like a plate of rojak, just that you removed the you tiao, taupok, cucumber etc with pork ribs.
Har gao (Prawn Dumplings). nothing special for this. average lo.
Carrot Cake which i think will taste better if the outer texture is a little bit more crispy.
Wonton with Szechuan Sauce. A spicy dish…didn’t really WOW me…
Very disappointing crab meat xiao long bao.. it just dun look appetizing to me and i find it too soggy. DISAPPOINTING AH~~~ i still prefer the xiao long bao from crystal jade and ding tai feng.
Spring Rolls served in a slightly different way..
Siew Mai topped with LARGE prawns.. not bad.. quite nice…
another signature dish. Deep Fried Banana Prawns. Prawns and banana are wrapped together with popiah skin and sesame. Quite a interesting combination.. Taste wise.. mmm so so lo. lol~
Deep fried wanton.. a normal dish but the prawns are really huge in it!
can’t remember the name of this. Think it’s another prawn dish. YES.. PRAWNS AGAIN….
Lastly.. dessert.. A combination of 3 different kinds of dessert from the menu.
mango pomelo…
and the durian ball…
See.. 满满的榴莲肉…
out of the 3, i think i prefer the durian ball and the mango pomelo more 😉
Overall not a bad place to dine in if you are looking for a decent chinese restaurant or craving for some dim sums. Just that i think the irritating manager can leave me alone next time when i visit there again.
