I was having dinner with a few friends the other day and one of them asked me : “Hey! You seems to be leading a very happening lifestyle hor~ see you always eat good food, go travel, go for staycations and all. How do you manage to stay so positive ah? You seem so stress-free!” Hahaha~ I burst out laughing after hearing his question.
Come on, seriously, who can stay positive and stress-free all the time? Every single one of us will have ups and downs in our lives, but it’s about how you manage it. In order to cope, some people resort to clubbing, drinking, or even worse, take DRUGS!
The 2 most common drugs that people take are Ice and Heroin. I seriously have no idea what it gives you by taking them. Maybe it will make you feel happy, excited and worry free? Maybe after taking these drugs, all your problems will be solved, all your worries will be gone and you will lead a happier life? NO! These drugs cannot do that. All the happy sensations you get are not permanent! After the initial ‘high’. All you are left with are the negative effects which will only harm your body!
Like :
Lowered heart rate and respiration
Damage to lungs, kidneys and liver
Dull feeling and tiredness
Difficulty in concentrating
Constipation
Increased heart rate and body temperature
Fits, stroke and death
Damage to heart and nerves
Liver and kidney diseases
Abnormal behaviour with mood swings, confusion, delusion and hallucination
Anxiety and irritability
So you tell me, what benefit will taking drugs give you leh?! NOTHING! So please, stay away from drugs. It will not do you any good! Rather than spending your money on things that will harm you, why not spend it on something that can make you happy, and at the same time good for you? Let me show you how I do it! 🙂
FOOD!
I think food is the best way to make a person feel happy. Whenever I’m feeling down or not feeling so great, I would treat myself to some “comfort food” – food that I love, or food that I have a craving for. It doesn’t have to be a meal at a fine dining restaurant or super atas place. Local hawker food or a nice cafe with yummy coffee and cakes works equally fine for me 😉

FITNESS!
Yes, food will make you happy but if you just eat and eat, you will grow fat right? So, in order to maintain and control my weight, I hit the gym weekly to burn off those extra calories and build some muscles 😉 Working out can make one have a clearer and better mind and you feel much more refreshed too! 🙂
I love the feeling of sweating it all out! 😀 ( P.S: it’s also to make me feel less guilty for eating too much 😛 )
STAYCATIONS!
If you are really busy at work and you have no chance to apply vacation leave to go on a holiday oversaes, the best alternative for you will be staycations! No need to apply for any leave at all! Just book your rooms over the weekend and tada~ you get to take a break from work and enjoy the comfy bed (dunno why all hotels have super comfy beds)…
Don’t forget the facilities, pool, gym, spa etc…
And yummy breakfast! 😀
You must be thinking, SIAO AH! Why spend money to stay in a local hotel?! BUT wait till you go for one, I’m sure you will love it and want to stay somemore! It’s actually not that expensive too. For example for $300, you get a comfy bed in a luxurious hotel, enjoy the facilities and even get to have breakfast for two. Yet with this amount of money, you can only buy one return ticket to Bangkok! So, a local hotel staycation is actually very worth it!
Do you see it now? Actually there’s so much things you can do to relax and feel good! other than doing things like taking drugs -.-” All these money I spent on food, gym and staycations actually benefitted me in one way or another while the money you spend on drugs will not give the abuser anything but poor health and trouble with the law!
I’m sure that there’s a lot more ways to lead a healthy and positive lifestyle. I’m just sharing with you how I do it. Some people like to cook or bake, some people love to go shopping, some people go KTV and sing their lungs out. There are really a lot of things that you can do.
But finally and most importantly, have a positive mindset, and things will just work out for you.
Now, go spread some positivity to your loved ones around you and remember to say ‘NO’! to drugs! 😉
