Continuing on my DAY 2 taiwan trip and we woke up at ard 8am in the morning as it will be another fully packed day 😀
Head out for breakfast at this small little 早餐店 just beside the 红楼广场..
milk tea and soya milk with cute graphics on it 😉
it’s so good~~ see even my mum agrees with me! 😀
After breakfast, we took the metro from xi men station to taipei train station. This time we are not taking the bullet train but the normal railway train to rui fang train station 瑞芳车站。
*ps : dad still stonning, probably due to the lack of rest :X
Upon arriving at 瑞芳 station, purchase the train ticket directly at the platform to shi fen 十分., which is the 平溪线.
As we still have ard a 30 mins time grace before the train arrived, we visited the shops nearby the station.
Visited this shop recommended by my boss to get the famous egg pudding for our tea break at shi fen later on! 🙂 will show u more pics below…
here comes the train! 😀
it takes us approx 30mins plus to reach the destination. along the way, the view was pretty cool! it passes by mountains and river.. 真的别有一番风味!
Arrived!
Bought these sotong balls which taste sooo FANTASTIC!!! 😀
Mum getting ready for her first bite~
Yumm Yumm~
The place where everyone comes here to 放天灯!
OMG! my favourite local snack!!! 😀 know what isit?!
Dad munching on it without knowing what it is.. but he do agree that it taste good!! 😀 after i told him that it’s actually chicken buttock, 鸡屁股 also known as 七里香 in taiwan, he gave me a jaw dropped look! hahahahaha~~~ 😀
十分大瀑布 is not very near the train station. you actually have to walk quite a distance up and down the hill to reach there. but with the cooling breeze and nice scenery to accompany you, you wouldn’t notice that you’ve actually walked quite a distance 😉
When you arrived at this bridge, you are almost there le!
Initially when i saw this, i was like dun tell me this is the waterfall?! i spent quite some time walking all the way here just to see this?! phew~ luckily this isn’t the waterfall we are looking for…
You will get to experience walking along the railway track where the train will pass by~ but be careful as i think it’s quite dangerous la~
you needa pay 60 or 100 bucks for the admission fee to see the water fall. You might be thinking for what i pay for admission fee to enter right? i have the same thinking as you but eventually, you will still pay for it cos thinking of the distance and time you’ve spent walking there, aiya~ just pay la~
and here it is! the famous 十分大瀑布
Find a good spot in the cafe there to have our tea break! remember the egg pudding we bought earlier on at 瑞芳 station?
It’s really good!!! strongly recommend you guys to try it!! and how can we not have any tea for tea break right? 🙂
a pic before we walk our way back to the train station…
now the exciting part!!! our first ever 放天灯 experience!! 😀 There’s a few variety of tian deng for you to choose from ranging from different colors. Different colors represent different things so usually pple will go for the combination will by there’s 4 different colors on 4 sides of the tian deng.
Here’s me doing most of the writing.. SO FUN!! 😀
and the yellow section specially reserved for my parents as it represent good luck and fortune!! see all the 4D numbers… lolx~ the staff thought we owned so many cars in singapore as usually pple write down their car plate number on it! hahahaha~
getting ready!!! 😀
and here we released it up into the sky!! usually you can request to add on fire crackers on it and the most you can add is only one. but my dad requested for 2 instead which somehow add on weight to the tian deng and it’s having difficulty floating up.. but luckily after the firecrackers went off, it manged to fly up into the sky 😀 look at the epic video below. everyone was going woooo~~ wooo~~ oh~~ oh my goodness~~ LOLX!!
Went for late lunch after that at the store nearby which serve pretty nice drunken chicken!
my 炸酱面
We took the train back to 瑞芳 station and took another train back to 忠孝复兴 station where we begin our 大血拼 shopping spree at wu fen pu 五分埔 wholesale market!! ;D
No pics as we are all busy shopping!!! when we are done and happy with our shopping spree, we walked over to the nearby rao he night market 饶河夜市 for dinner 🙂
Ordered this super plain looking mee sua which taste surprisingly yummy with the special sauce added to it! 😀
bought my favourite 盐酥菇 to munch while we walk ard the night market.
happy and satisfied with the shopping loots 🙂
and im happy with mine too! all in that HUGE shopping bag of mine ;P MUAHAHAHAHAHA~!!
Went back to our hotel and bought my favourite sausage with garlic spread from the road side stall in xi men ding 😉
for you info, do try walking ard xi men ding at night, ard 11 plus to 12. though most of the shops as closed, but there are lots of pushcarts along the road selling really cheap stuffs! 😀
