During our year-end countdown trip to Taiwan, we visited quite a few places in Taiwan. One of the highlights was watching fireworks of 101 at W Taipei. We also managed to venture out to Taichung and made the right choice of staying at La Vida Hotel.

La Vida Hotel is located in the center of the Feng Chia business district and is conveniently reachable by car, bus, railway and HSR. We arrived by car as we’ve booked a driver from Hualien to Taichung visiting a few places along the way, such as the Old England at Cing Jing and Taroko National Park.

The architecture at La Vida is a combination of elements from different countries, such as the simplicity from Northen Europe, craftsmanship from New York City and construction materials from Spain. The hotel had high ceilings with good lighting making it spacious. The place is equipped with modern technology and features a green wall. The interior design is classy and each element corresponds with each other perfectly.

Reception

Complimentray WiFi and coffee bar with variety of style magazines are provided in the couch area.
The “green plant wall” is specially built to merge nature with urban design, presenting a space of greenness in the city.

Other than a 24-hour front desk, other facilities such as meeting rooms, tour desk and luggage storage, business center and gym are available as well. What’s more, all guests will enjoy free WiFi and parking too!

We’re checked into a Deluxe Double Room which comes with a hot tub, sofa, work desk as well as a comfortable king size bed.

Love the simplicity of the work desk, especially the white brick wall

Breakfast is served at Viva Restaurant located at B1 of the hotel and we’re quite surprised with the decent buffet spread, freshly prepared on the spot. The elegant design and comfortable lighting, together with the leathered furniture gives a modern look and feel to the dining area.

La Vida Hotel is also 2 minutes walk away to the famous Feng Chia Night Market filled with lots of delicious local delicacies. Be sure to visit the night market and immerse yourself in a unique Taiwanese night market experience.
