Singapore – Get ready to be transported to the vibrant Pink City of Jaipur, right here in Singapore! The Gardens by the Bay Flower Dome is currently hosting the spectacular Sunflower Surprise (恋恋向日葵) floral display, which showcases the golden brilliance of over 3,000 sunflowers against a backdrop of iconic Indian architecture.

Step Into the Pink City: Iconic Landmarks Recreated
Prepare to have your breath taken away by the India-themed landscape, inspired by Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan and a UNESCO World Heritage City. Known as the Pink City since 1876, its architectural icons have been meticulously recreated amidst the sea of yellow and golden blooms.
The centrepiece is a striking 5-metre tall, 10-metre wide recreation of the Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds), one of India’s most recognised and photographed landmarks. You’ll also be able to admire detailed recreations of the symmetrically beautiful Amer Stepwell and the vibrantly painted Patrika Gate, which beautifully reflect Rajasthani architecture and culture.
More Than Just Yellow: Discover Unique Sunflower Varieties
Forget everything you think you know about sunflowers! This year’s display features an impressive 3,000 sunflowers across twenty unique varieties, with more than half being new to Gardens by the Bay. About half of these stunning blooms were even grown in-house by the Gardens’ dedicated researchers.
Look out for blooms in unexpected hues besides the classic yellow, including pink, red, and deep brown. Some varieties even reach an impressive height of 1.8 metres!

- Helianthus ‘Chocolate’: A dramatic, in-house grown variety featuring rich crimson-brown velvety petals with a darker brown centre, reaching up to 1.8 metres.
- Helianthus ‘Strawberry Blonde’: A stunning bi-coloured sunflower with pink petals, yellow tips, and a dark centre.
- Helianthus ‘Lemonade’: A fully-double, feathery-looking, bright lemon-yellow bloom.
- Helianthus ‘Sunfill Purple’: A novel, in-house grown variety admired for its unique green sepals with purple tips, also growing up to 1.8 metres tall.
A Cultural Showcase: Artefacts and Community Art
Beyond the flowers, the exhibition is enriched by authentic Indian craft items and cultural artefacts on special loan from the High Commission of India.
Look out for the beautiful peacock sculptures, co-created with senior beneficiaries from the Singapore Indian Development Association (SINDA). Adorned with over 550 feathers, the peacocks symbolise good luck, prosperity, and protection in Indian culture.
