After about an hour plus, we arrived! Got a cab from the counter to bring us to our hotel.
As most of the nicer hotel are fully booked, we managed to find this apartment style hotel, De Poem Loft, located quite a distance away from the busy area. Though it’s not that near, but still you can walk your way to the main area where the malls are located. Alternatively, hop onto a tuk tuk or cab.
very interesting lift. you need to open the door and close it manually before the lift can operate 🙂
Tada~ here’s my room! it’s huge…
Time to explore around the area! and most importantly to have lunch~~~
Dinner settled at this sukiyaki buffet restaurant
christmasy dessert from swensen
Morning breakfast in room with the pastries we bough the night before and milk which is really cheap! enough to last us till we return.
booked a car for a half day tour around Hat Yai. Not that expensive. ard 60 bucks SGD 🙂
The first stop we went to visit the Goddess of Mercy (Guan Yin) Statues in Hat Yai which somehow reminds me of the one in Penang.
This photo can be easily used as a photo taken in Japan. hahaha~
the dog decided to photobomb me~
Will you spend money to free these birds?
One of the largest sleeping buddha in Hat Yai along the river…
Then to the Songkhla Lake, the only natural lake in Thailand is about 80km long and 20 to 25 km wide. You will get to see the infamous statue of Prince CHumphon Khet Udomsak, which was established by Thailand National Defence Volunteer Group of Songkhla Province and Thai navy in 1987 for mariners to worship before going to work at sea.
We settled down for seafood lunch nearby which we think its alittle pricey…
Are you able to tell what’s the name of this island? It’s the Rat Island.
the view while we enjoy the food
You might have noticed me wearing this pair of sunglasses from the pictures i took right? Love the white frame and it just look so perfect to wear it for a sunny vacation 😉 especially to the beach! Get yours today at http://eye-trendy.com/
the portion served was kinda huge but we managed to finish it. Guess we are too hungry haha!
after a sumptous lunch, we decided to take a stroll along the beach to “digest” our food 😛
apparantly, this mermaid statue is so popular that everyone is climbing onto it for a photo. One funny thing i noticed was, the whole group of people was surrounding the statue that i wonder where is the subject of this photo. themselves or the mermaid statue? hahaha~
nah~ not gonna waste time waiting to take a pic with the statue as it’s sooo PACKED and CROWDED~ i shall selfie with the beach instead! 😛
Our last stop for the tour is the floating market. Kinda disappointing as i was expecting something like the one in Bangkok, though i’ve not been to the one in BKK but from the pics etc i think the one in bkk seems better and worth visiting.
you can buy drinks from the stalls and they will pour it into these ceramic looking pots and you can bring them home with you.
all the food looks damn good but i didn’t try a single one of them. :X
After the tour, we went for a good body massage before heading back to the hotel 🙂
selfie in the tuk tuk…
Waking up the next day moring with my little tiger plush from Tigerair 😉
and breakfast the the starbucks nearby.. woo~ great way to start my day!
Thank you Tigerair and Standard Chartered for a worry-free vacation!
