Thank you once again to omy.sg and United International Pictures (UIP) for the invitation to the CORALINE movie preview in 3D at The Cathay on 20th Oct.

Was very anticipated with the movie ever since i saw the trailer in the cinema while watching UP last month. The very first impression the movie gave me was “The Nightmare Before Christmas”.

So, i brought my friend along for the preview after work last night, and we’re extremely looking forward to it. Here’s a short synopsis of the movie.

Based on Neil Gaiman’s international best-selling book and helmed by “The Nightmare Before Christmas” director Henry Selick, – is the first high definition, stop-motion animated feature to be shot in 3-D. In the film, a young girl (voiced by Dakota Fanning) walks through a secret door in her new home and discovers an alternate version of her life. On the surface, this parallel reality is eerily similar to her real life – only much better. But when this wondrously off-kilter, fantastical adventure turns dangerous, and her counterfeit other mother (voiced by Teri Hatcher]) tries to keep her forever, Coraline must count on her stubborn determination, bravery, and the aid of her neighbors and a talking black cat to save her real parents and some ghost children and get back home.

Overall for me, i think the movie is abit draggy, whereby i tend to lost my concentration on the movie half way through, but luckily, it gets abit exciting towards the later part of the movie.

Story plotting wise, there isn’t much climax in the storyline but i do like the morale of the story. It’s good ! 😀

But one thing that i’m impressed is the graphics and the animations! It’s really very very well done! you will know why i say so after viewing the making of Caroline videos below. 😀

To all the parents out there, if you’re looking for a movie whereby you can bring you kids to for the weekend, “Coraline” will be a suitable movie for you. 😀
