A dazzling array of gastronomic indulgences await at Lawry’s The Prime Rib Singapore. The chefs at Lawry’s has curated an assortment of exquisite culinary masterpieces in its lunch and dinner menus on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve.
Checkout the Christmas eve offerings, starting with the Ocean Gems Fresh Chilean Scallop. The extremely fresh Chilean scallops looks like a piece of art with 3 colorful purees of baby carrot, beetroot and green peas. No additional seasoning required with this dish that is sprinkled with sea salt and fished with a splash of extra virgin Olive Oil.
The hearty and full bodied Boston lobster Bisque with Fresh Lobster Claw help warms the stomach and the lovely finishing of chive bits and drizzle of Gran marnier gave a dept of flavor to the soup.
The platter of appetizers consisting of Forie Gras, Octopus with crabmeat salad and Chicken Gyoza was a nice start. The star on the plate went to the Forie Gras, cooked to perfection without being over gamy. The richness was balanced out with homemade red wine raisin sauce that gave it a nice sweetness. The Baby octopus in roma tomato puree and crabmeat salad was tender and the crab meat was sweet. Overall a nice balanced dish.
The thoughtful chefs had a great idea with the Pixie Palate Cleaner – Strawberry Sorbet. This intensive sorbet helped rebalanced the tongue for the meaty dishes coming up. It was so good and I wanted more of it for desert.

You will not go wrong with the 100grams of Roasted USDA Prime Rib of Beef(SGD189) that is carved tableside from gleaming “Silver Carts”. Such a visual treat! Accompanying the prime rib is 100grams of roasted sliced turkey and 10 grams of smoked turkey ham.
The turkey ham was a tad salty for my liking but it balanced out with the sliced turkey which was soft and tender. The condiments are US Idaho mashed potatoes which are soft and fluffy, whipped cream horseradish, chestnut stuffing, and cranberry sauce or if you prefer homemade gravy.
The Yorkshire Pudding was a good addition to the dish, the pastry like pudding helped mop up the gravy goodness that was left on my plate.
For the non-beef eaters, go for the Broiled Atlantic Lobster Tail with Roached New Zealand King Salmon(SGD189). The Lobster tail was simply amazing with melted butter and a drizzle of lemon, eat bite was sweet and will leave you craving for more. The salmon was also cooked to perfection and would make any seafood lover happy.
The Grilled Kurobuta pork collar(SGD169) is also a good choice served with mandarin oranges, US Idaho Potato wedges, caramelized onion, grilled tomato stuffed with cream spinach and homemade brown sauce. Do not be shocked that the soft pork collar is very slightly pink. This is intended to keep the pork moist and it is still cooked perfectly.

Between the Sakura Cremeux with mango-pear coulis and Haagen-Dazs vanilla Ice cream and Glazed Chocolate Mousse Praline Dome withHaagen-Dazs Ice cream, I would recommend the praline. The sakura cremeux was a tad too creamy and was not as good as the chocolate.
