CASIO Singapore has announced the release of the new BABY-G MSG-S200 timepiece. This tough yet feminine watch is part of the brand’s ongoing efforts to revamp the BABY-G collection for modern women, whether they’re existing fans or new to the BABY-G family.
A product of CASIO’s 35-year legacy in tough watches, the MSG-S200 is proof that the concepts of “tough” and “sophisticated” are not mutually exclusive – despite having a shock-resistant case construction, it maintains a slim height of just 12.3mm. Dimensions aside, the MSG-S200’s design also exudes refinement, beginning with its forged bezel. Unlike stamping or milling, forging starts with a larger work piece that is then compressed into its final dimensions to create a denser, higher quality product. In the MSG-S200, the bezel’s surfaces are then brushed and polished variously to play with light differently and enhance its visual appeal.
Elsewhere on the watch, resin detailing on the case and strap offers contrast in both colour and texture while also keeping the watch lightweight. The dial, too, features a functional yet aesthetically pleasing design. The hybrid analogue-digital display here presents information instantly and lends the watch a modern chic, while the dial itself is built in layers with a mixture of curves and sharp angles for the ultimate in sophistication.

The MSG-S200 will be available in Singapore from the last week of June at G-FACTORY outlets island-wide (except IMM), and is priced S$249.
