Casio Singapore is celebrating the 35th anniversary of its G-SHOCK brand of shock-resistant watches in 2018. To mark this milestone, Casio announced today the release of the GLACIER GOLD collection of four G-SHOCK models with glacier-inspired transparent designs.
The new DW-5035E, DW-5735E, GA-735E, and GA-835E watches combine G-SHOCK toughness with an overall look that evokes the breathtaking presence of glaciers in a land of extreme cold, with clear semi-transparent bezels and bands. The innovative use of transparent resin gained attention with the DW-6900K model that was released in 1996 to commemorate the G-SHOCK Dolphin & Whale models, making a lasting mark on the G-SHOCK lineage. The dials, buckles, buttons, screws, and case backs are finished with a brilliant gold colour worthy of their status as 35th-anniversary models.
The commemorative models are based on the DW-5000, which features the iconic square shape of the G-SHOCK brand, the DW-5700, with its round shape that has been revived for the 35th anniversary of G-SHOCK, the GA-710, a popular big case model, and the GA-810, a mid-sized case model with three hands for optimum readability. The back plate of all four models is engraved with a logo that identifies them as 35th-anniversary models. The DW-5035E and DW-5735E feature a screw back, which gives the watches a hefty feel.
Glacier Gold will be launched in all G-Factory Stores except for G-SHOCK Outlet Store on 22 September 2018, 10am. The DW-5035E-7 and the DW-5735E-7 are priced at $339 while the GA-735E-7A and the GA-835E-7A are priced at $249.
