An Epicurean Journey through India Menu at Punjab Grill

An Epicurean Journey through India Menu at Punjab Grill

If given a choice to choose from, I would usually go for either the western, chinese, japanese, thai and korean cuisine while indian cuisine would probably be the last in my list. After a tasting session at Punjab Grill, I guess it’s not going to be the same anymore!

Dining at Punjab Grill is like taking an epicurean journey through Indian’s richly diverse Northwest Frontier Province – the undivided Punjab region, where the source of inspiration for their menus come from.

Love the overall ambience and decor and you may not notice that you’re actually dining in a Indian restaurant. Not to worry if you have a big group as there’s long tables available.

Let’s move on to the food! We started off with the Smoked Tandoori Duck Shorba Laced with Burnt Garlic Oil. It’s really interesting to have soup in a Indian restaurant as I supposed it’s not common? I love the soup and it’s really good. Rich and savoury with the burnt garlic aroma, perfect!

For our appetizers, we have, starting from the left,  the Pan Grilled Turkey Kebab Patty stuffed with Masala Foie Gras served on a bed of Royal Cumin Bread which is quite nicely done as the turkey meat was alittle moist and not dry.

The Tandoori Glazed Australian Lamb Chop finished with Silver Leaves is a little spicy but not too overwhelming while the Tandoori Smoked Carom Seeds flavoured Cod Fish served with Bulgari Cavier is soft and it simply melts in your mouth.

Turket Roulade stuffed with Duck Meat and Kashmiri Morels served with Cranberry Makhani sauce is what we have as our main for the night. It’s interesting to see how the chef infused christmas elements in the food for a christmasy experience 😉 Examples like using turkey and cranberry, which is commonly found in Christmas dishes. 😉

Oh! and yes, the Tava Grilled Cherry Tomato and Green Asparagus Tempered with Royal Cumin is simply DELICIOUS! 😀

As mentioned earlier about enhancing the Christmas experience, the chef included Rum Raisin and Dry Fruits in the Naan. So addictive that we couldn’t stop grabbing one after another. Hahaha!

A Symphony of Desserts was served to end the day with Gulab Jamun Cheese Cake (from the left) and Coffee Caramel Kuleh Dust with Coco powder which is SUPER SWEET, by the way not to be surprise as it’s common for Indian desserts to taste very sweet, before finishing with the Chilled Kokum Granite.

It was really a totally different experience for me and somehow changes my view on Indian cuisine, and knowing that it does only revolve around spices and curry haha~

All thanks to Chef Javed Ahamad, the Corporate Chef at Punjab Grill, whom has spent more than 11 years in various Indian restaurants in Singapore with refined skills from hours of arduous training and cooking.

This Christmas, come indulge in Punjab Grill’s fusion menu and go on an Epicurean Journey to India! Epicurean Journey to India Christmas Menu is priced at $110++, available from 1 – 31 December 2014.
