AMOY Hotel – A Heritage Boutique Hotel in Singapore

Amoy Hotel is situated in a unique location with a collection of shophouses dating back more than 170 years at Far East Square. It was once the landing site of Chinese immigrants arriving by boat to seek better fortunes and a better life in the far east.

With the historically rich backdrop and a bustling location at the heart of CBD, Amoy Hotel is ready to give the guests an experiential glimpse into the Chinese Diaspora of years past. The first touch point for the guests will be the AMOY’s entrance, which is the Fuk Tai Chi Museum, a temple built to honour the gods for their safe voyage when our forefathers arrived in Singapore.

can you spot your surname on this featured wall?

Strong heritage items used in the past can be seen at the hotel lobby

The experience continues into the interiors of the hotel where they are designed to mirror the life, love and tribulations of Singapore’s early Chinese immigrants. As the rooms is converted from the shophouses, no two rooms are alike, in terms of layout and furnishings. Heritage accents with carefully selected furniture like traditional Chinese stools and porcelain basin can be found too.

Brown and Cony loved the bed 😉

Eco-friendly

Complimentary mini bar with a coffee machine in room!

Safe and hairdryer is provided in the room too

No bathtub for the rooms though…

So what’s around the hotel that we can go explore on? Let us show you where and what you can do!

Just right outside the hotel, there’s this famous Mr Teh Tarik where you can get local drinks like the famous Teh Tarik, Coffee, Kopi-O, Teh-O etc at very affordable price. this place is usually crowded in the morning and during lunch hours.

There’s also the famous Ah Kun Kaya Toast located just right outside the hotel as well.

Along the stretch of Far East Square, there are lots of restaurants and pubs, so if you are looking for a place to chill and drink, this is it.

You can also take the train, located just outside the hotel as well, to places like Marina Bay Sands and Gardens by the Bay.

Our staycation package comes with complimentary dinner at “臣” JIN Fine Dining.

Housed within AMOY, “臣” JIN Fine Dining is helmed by Thomas Kok, renowned sushi chef of Hokkaido Sushi Restaurant fame and promises to deliver a distinctively inspiring gastronomic experience. Using fresh, air-flown ingredients and modern cooking techniques, fans of Japanese cuisine will enjoy classic favourites as well as sophisticated reinterpretations of best-loved dishes.

Dinner was great and I love the sashimi! Yumz~ and not forgetting the Sakae too. After dinner, we returned back to the room and they’ve turned down the room with a little surprise 🙂

It was really a pleasant stay with AMOY, especially with such friendly and attentive staff they have. If you are looking to stay in a hotel within the CBD area and go easy on your pocket, you might want to consider this boutique hotel. 🙂
