Bangkok, one of my favourite travel destination is only a 2 hours flight away from Singapore and with the cheap air fares nowadays, visiting Bangkok can be as good as making a impromptu trip over the weekends. During my recent visit to Bangkok, I was delighted and pleased to be hosted at The Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit where we both experience a wonderful stay with them.

Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit, A Luxury Collection Hotel under the Starwood Hotels Group is located in the heart of Sukhumvit Road. Easily accessible through the sky bridge to the Skytrain at BTS Asok Station, the subway at MRT Sukhumvit Station, Terminal 21 (my favourite shopping mall), you are just minutes away to all the entertainment that the city has to offer! Oh, do take the train from the airport to the hotel as your save ALOT more time than taking a taxi.

The Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit combine modern elegance and luxury with the fascinating Thai culture. Enhancing the atmosphere of a luxury Bangkok hotel, vivid glass sculptures are displayed in the lobby and public places.

Check in process was fast and we’re brought up to our room by the friendly staff.

There is a total of 420 guest rooms, including 40 exceptional luxury suites and 6 palatial suites among which there are some exquisite Thai Theme Suites with Tropical Garden which I will show you later in the post.

We’re given the Grande Room and we love it! 🙂

This spacious 45 square-meter Grande Rooms comes in a contemporary decor with a subtle blend of Thai design and rich dark wood furnishings.

The signature Luxury Collection bed. SO comfortable!

The marble-floored bathroom gives it a supreme luxury look. The bathroom comes with a seperate shower and bathtub with spa-inspired THANN amenities, as well as a walk-in closet.

There is also a dedicated media hub with HDMI, Bluetooth, USB port and 60mbps high-speed internet access, DVD player and a 46″ LED TV.

The 33 storey hotel was built to face both the city views and the soothing vistas of Lake Ratchada. Yes, this the view from my room. So awesome right?!

Mini Bar

As mentioned earlier on, we got to visit the Themed suites, Rama suite

The signature Luxury Collection bed with an intricately carve teak bed frame resting atop.

The bathroom is HUGE!

with a round Jacuzzi bathtub in it.

The Rama Suite’s extravagant garden distinguishes itself even further with a covered private outdoor Jacuzzi.

Surrounded by a lush tropical garden, the pool area is a secluded oasis where you can escape from the city and experience total relaxation.

The Fitness Club is well equipped with sports equipment. There is a strength training zone, cardio area with a studio where classes will be conducted daily! You can check on the timetable online or at the hotel.

From 4,900THB++, you can enjoy a 2 hours 30 mins Aromatic Indulge at The Grande Spa at Sheraton Grande Bangkok, renowned as one of the finest day spas in Bangkok.

Single or couple rooms are available for different uses, such as spa, massages and facial.

A memorable culinary experience awaits for you at The Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit. We’re really lucky to try almost all of them!

The Orchid Cafe serves a wide range of International Buffet & A La Carte Menu. There will be special themed buffet organized to refresh and excite your palate too.

Rossini’s is a Italian restaurant where diners can experience Italy’s rich culinary heritage and the finest contemporary cuisine in the setting of a Tuscan villa. Very nice decor in there!

If you are looking for a place to chillax at night or in the afternoon, you can head over to The Living Room where they provide cocktails, light meal & live jazz performance 🙂

The library is located just beside The Living Room where you can do printing, photocopying or some work there.

BarSu, a bistro-lounge located at the level one of the hotel.

Do grab some interesting cocktails like the one we had. Vada Gimlet, which consists of Tanqueray Gin, Chili Lemongrass Syrup and Lime Juice. Its like tom yum soup in a cocktail version. SPICY~ but SHIOK!

Another highlight of the restaurants in Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit is DID, Dine in the Dark where you embark on a journey of sensory awareness while service by visually impaired guides. Both Jeff and I was really excited and looking forward to it as we’re really curious if we will be making a mess while having our food there haha~

Upon our arrival at Barsu, the staff will do a brief explanation of DID before introducing a choice of four course set menus, Asian, Western, Vegetarian or a special surprise menu for us to choose from. We had the special menu which basically covers all the different cuisines. 🙂

Before entering the dark room, you will have to remove anything that glows, including your watches and switching your mobile phones off. Not to worry, you will now be in good hand by the staff. I shall not say much but its definitely one experience that you should go for. The price is relatively cheap at $1400++ baht per person and 50 baht from each diner will be donated to the foundation for the blind in Thailand.

You can choose to have your breakfast at the Orchid Cafe or at The Sala. Go for The Sala if you prefer a more tranquil environment for your breakfast.

We spent a total of 3D2N with Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit and I must say that we felt really blessed to have our stay with them. Jeff actually fell sick on the second day and I needed to bring him to the nearest hospital. The staff quickly arranged for transport and advised us which is the nearest hospital to go to. They also prepare a bouquet of fresh flowers, sent to the room to wish him speedy recovery. These might not seems anything but it’s the little personal touch that makes you feel unique and well taken care of.

Thank you Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit and every single staff that makes our stay a memorable and pleasant one. We’ll definitely be back again.
