MasterChef Asia Premiere 3 Sep 2015, 9pm on Lifetime

The MasterChef series is one of my favourite guilty pleasures when I am at home. I particularly like the Team Challenges, when the chefs are divided into two teams and have to prepare an entire menu of dishes for a large group of diners at an event. I also love the Mystery Box challenges. It’s interesting to watch the amateur chefs at work, and sometimes I am inspired to try out new dishes from what I see on the show. This is why I am quite excited to learn that the inaugural MasterChef Asia is debuting on Lifetime Channel this Thursday, 3 September. There are three Singaporean contestants on the show – Lennard Yeong, an engineer; Woo Wai Leong, a lawyer; and Sandrian Tan, a homemaker. Go Singapore go! Last Saturday, we watched a live cook-off between these three Singaporean contestants in Nex Shopping Mall. The SOSD and Assisi Hospice is organizing a unique charity run on 3rd October 2015, at the East Coast Park to raise funds for both organisations. Titled the “Light Up Your Life Run”, this distinctive evening event features various lighting themes and fun-filled activities for all ages. The non-competitive event is opened to the public. Mizuno Singapore launches first ever full-fledged Ekiden Race in Singapore

Mizuno kicks it up a notch as they introduced today the first full-fledged Ekiden race in Singapore. Targeting at least 5,000 participants, the inaugural race, which will be the first of its kind in Singapore, will take place on 18 July 2015 at The Meadow, Gardens by the Bay. Striving to deliver an experience that will focus on Japanese values such as teamwork, performance and perseverance, the Mizuno Ekiden 2015 will showcase the concept of relay running that has stemmed from Japan and has been incredibly popular since its inception. Although the concept is not new in Singapore, it will be the first time a race in Singapore features only Ekiden-based categories, namely the Open Category (42.195km), Corporate and Schools Category (21.1km)*.
